A robotics research firm is out with a prediction that the use of robotic equipment in the construction industry will rise in the next six years.
Research firm Tractica projects a $226 million market for the construction robotics. The construction industry has been labor-intensive but not focused on robotic engineering.
The growing interest in construction robots is driving revenue in 2018. In addition, the firm says more than 7,000 construction robots are being deployed to address several construction and demolition tasks.
The main categories that are currently available include robots for demolition, bricklaying, drilling, 3D printing, and rebar tying.
