Ashton Woods Home Builders has elected to tear down a home in Bradenton, Florida’s Rosedale community. Neighbors say the single-family home was built too close to theirs. So, demolition was the last option. Taking down the house ended a nearly year-long dispute between the builder and residents of the community.

Manatee County ordinances requires at least 12 feet of space between homes in this neighborhood, the home in question was only 7 feet, 6 inches away from the next home over.

City officials ordered Construction to stop as the new home was being completed in November 2019.

Ashton Woods had applied for a variance, then withdrew its application two weeks before the hearing, electing instead to tear down the home and build another house farther away.
