County documents request less multi-family units, more low-density homes, and much more Parks and Open Space

As the “Placer Ranch” Master Plan solidifies, the blueprint for future development have changed.

Primarily, Feedback from Placer County have led to less development and more parks and open space.

Almost 200 fewer housing units have been eliminated within the 22-hundred-acre Placer Ranch than previously planned. The development is bound by HWY 65 to the East, Roseville to the South, Brewer Road on the West, and Athens Ave to the North.

500 units of low-density residential units are being added to the project. Nearly 700 medium- and high-density housing units will be eliminated.

Commercial Space anticipated around a planned satellite campus for Sacramento State University have been reduced. As a result, 19 acres of parks and open space will be added ot the project.

I wonder how this will affect the 3.5 million homes Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to build in California by 2025. And more importantly, will it satisfy California’s need for Affordable Housing? We talk about it Sunday at 1pm on Talk 650 KSTE, Sacramento.
